How to Submit Images for Monthly Projects

The showing of monthly assignments is probably the most rewarding part of the meeting. It is a chance for the members, to show their results, on how they took on the monthly project. You can submit 1 to 8 images to me, prior to the meeting via email. If you don't have a chance to do that you can bring them to Ed the night on the meeting. I only request is you please come a little earlier so he can load them on to the computer, before the meeting starts.

The first thing to do with your images is to resize it to 800 X 600 pixels for landscape and 600 X 800 pixels for portrait. The club projector can only display in that resolution, so using larger sizes will not produce any better results. The images can be in jpg and bmp format. All of the Photo Software programs have someway to resize your photos. We have demonstrated resizing the techniques using Photoshop Elements 3, Photoshop 7.0 and CS, Photo Explorer and Thumbs Plus, at past meetings. After you have your image resized the next step is to rename them so they can be easily stored and found after they are put on the club computer. We have found using the following method to rename your images works best and conforms to the way he has set up the introduction slides with your name on it. Just rename all the images you plan to submit with your last name, first initial and number them 001, 002, 003 etc. after your name. So if your last name is Smith, first name John, your renamed image files will look something like this.
